If you're familiar with Canutillo Texas then you know we have some beautiful farm fields, my favorite being the cotton fields. I love being able to incorporate Cantillo's beautiful farm scenery into whatever outdoor session I know that it will compliment.
A little while back I was able to do a maternity shoot for an awesome family that at the time was expecting their second little boy and I was ecstatic when they decided they wanted to capture the growth of their little family at one of our beautiful cotton fields. Not to mention that they are also some good friends of mine which made this shoot even more memorable.
The great thing about the outdoors is that you don't always need elaborate props or lighting to get that perfect photo. Sometimes you just need good old fashion mother nature.
Besides having a beautiful place to shoot, and a beautiful family to shoot for, the highlight of this memorable outing was their oldest boy.
If you're familiar with working with kids then you know how tricky it can be to get them to cooperate even just for a few minutes. If you think a dead battery or bad weather could stop a shoot imagine what a tantrum can do. Luckily we didn't have any meltdowns. This time.
To prepare for our shoot I made sure to bring some yummy snacks to bribe our young model. Cuties, which are small oranges, and some chocolate granola! I loved the smile he gave when he realized he was going to get a sweet, parent approved, treat if he gave us some great smiles! You should always prepare for any scenario that might go down when you're out in the field or at your studio.
I'm glad to say that we had a successful session and got some great shots. This is definitely one for the books. Thank you, Cuties and mother nature! And thank you Ross family for being huge contributors to my passion with their endless amount of support and love!
